WebDirection Services – Terms of Service
(For SmartTags Pro License Server + Remote Config Service)

Thank you for using SmartTags Pro and the backend services provided by WebDirection Pty Ltd (“WebDirection”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
These Terms govern your use of:

  1. License Server – validates Pro licenses and tracks trial usage

  2. Remote Config & Prompt Templates Service – provides updated AI model configurations and prompt templates

Together, these are referred to as the Services.

By enabling the plugin’s Privacy & Telemetry toggle, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not enable the toggle or do not use the Services.

1. Description of the Services

1.1 License Server

Provides:

  • License validation

  • Trial usage tracking

  • Fraud and trial-abuse protection

  • Activation limit checks

  • Update eligibility checks

1.2 Remote Config & Prompt Templates Service

Provides:

  • Updated AI model lists

  • Updated prompt templates

  • Dynamic improvements without plugin updates

The plugin includes offline fallback files, so the plugin continues to function even if telemetry is disabled.

2. When the Services Are Used

The plugin connects to our servers only when the Privacy & Telemetry toggle is enabled.

For License Server:

Triggered during:

  • Activation

  • Deactivation

  • Daily license check

  • Trial usage count update

For Remote Config:

Triggered only to fetch shared configuration files:

  • smarttags-ai-config.json

  • smarttags-prompt-templates.json

If telemetry is OFF, no data is sent and local bundled files are used.

3. Data the Plugin Sends

License Server collects:

  • Site URL

  • Domain fingerprint (hashed)

  • Plugin version

  • License key & license status

  • Trial usage counters

  • Unique installation ID

Remote Config Service collects:

  • Site URL

  • Domain fingerprint (hashed)

  • Plugin version

Never collected:

  • Customer names

  • WooCommerce orders

  • User accounts

  • Payment information

  • Product information

  • Browsing behaviour

  • IP addresses (other than hashed fingerprints if required)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Tamper with or bypass license validation

  • Attempt to reset trial counters

  • Reverse-engineer or interfere with the Services

  • Share licenses beyond permitted activations

Violation may result in license suspension.

5. Intellectual Property

All plugin code, license logic, prompt templates, and AI configuration files are property of WebDirection Pty Ltd.

You may not redistribute, modify, or resell them unless permitted by your license.

6. Availability

We aim for high availability, but do not guarantee:

  • 24/7 uptime

  • Zero interruptions

  • No delays in configuration delivery

Local fallback files ensure basic plugin operation even if the Service is unavailable.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate usage if:

  • Fraud is detected

  • License is refunded or charged back

  • Terms are violated

  • License expires and is not renewed

8. Refunds

Refunds follow the refund policy of the marketplace or platform where the license was purchased.

9. Disclaimer

The Services are provided “as is”.
We do not guarantee:

  • Perfect accuracy of AI suggestions

  • Compatibility with all themes/plugins

  • Error-free or uninterrupted Services

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebDirection Pty Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Lost revenue or profits

  • Business interruption

  • Data loss or corruption

  • Any indirect or consequential damages

Your only remedy is to stop using the Services.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.
